Emmi Rothner writes an email to unsubscribe from the 'Like' magazine. But instead of sending it to woerter@like.com, she sends it to woerter@lieke.com. The fantastic story Love Virtually starts here.
Both of them start sending emails to each other occasionally. Slowly their frequency of mailing increase as they get to know more and more of each other. While Leo is happy with only a picture he'd painted of Emmi in his mind, Emmi wants to actually see what he looked like. It's simply puzzled her and disturbed her that Leo wasn't interested in getting to know how she actually look like.
One day they planned to play a game. They decided that would turn up at a predestined place at particular time of the day in a crowded place and try to guess who amongst other people was the person that he or she had been chatting with!
As time passed each of them delved more and more into the other's personal life until they became each others inner voice. They found it difficult to control their impatience if the other person didn't mail to him or her for a day.
The entire book is written in the form of a series of emails. The author,Daniel Glattauer, does a splendid job in portraying each character only through emails. It feels like having hacked into an email account and reading the conversation between two really interesting people. It is really a pleasure to read such books as this.
