Switch Bitch - Roald Dahl

Switch Bitch
Switch Bitch
Switch Bitch is a collection of short stories by Roald Dahl. Published in 1974, it consisted of  four short stories: "The Visitor", "The Great Switcheroo", The "Last Act" and "Bitch".

The Great Switcheroo- In this story, a man named Vic Hammond decides he would like to gave sex with his best friend Jerry's wife. But he cannot decide how to make that happen. Then he starts thinking, what if he could switch his wife with his friend's for a day? But the problem that remained was how he would bring the proposal to his friend. Finally an idea struck him. He devised a plan by which he could get to know about what Jerry felt about this plan, without putting their friendship in the line. So while chatting with him, he told him that he had a friend who used to exchange beds with his friend after their wives had fallen asleep and then each would silently have sex with the other's wife without giving the women the slightest hint that they were not their husbands. Jerry started bringing up the loopholes in this dangerous game. Vic, glad that Jerry had shown the slightest of interest, tried his best to convince Jerry that it was so well planned that his 'friend' had been doing it for weeks and still doing it.

As one reads on the discussion between the two friends one cannot help wondering where Roald Dahl brought this from. And the way Dahl describes it is even more fascinating. I, myself was grinning , all the time that I was reading it, that too unconsciously until my cheeks started aching and I realized what I was doing.

Finally,  Jerry told Vic that they too should try it

What follows is  a description of their preparation  for the execution of the plan.

As always Roald Dahl is a master of bringing a twist in the tale: The following after the 'switcheroo' Vic is shocked when Mary tells him that she had never really enjoyed having sex with him until the previous day!
